Setting goals in any aspect of life can be daunting, even more so when they are riding goals. So many factors are outside of our control. How can we best set ourselves up to achieve them?
Georgina Steele and her wonderful young horse Flash Gordon aka Wonderhorse Dressage started working with Wise Owl Equitation a little over a year ago.
Around that time Gee, in a self-admitted sulk at not being able to attend the Hertfordshire County Show due to transport issues, vowed that in 2022 she would attend that show in style in her very own lorry. She made the bold statement on Facebook not having the slightest clue how she was going to do it!
Over the past year Gee has worked tirelessly – saving for her lorry, practicing for her HGV test and training her wonderful Gordon through the Wise Owl Equitation platform.
In January she took part in the Wise Owl Equitation New Year Challenge. This further cemented her determination to achieve her goals, and gave her both the mindset & confidence tools, as well the practical training and advice to do just that.
Here is a video she recorded about her experience just over a month ago.
Then on Sunday 29th May 2022 on her new lorry’s maiden voyage off she went to the Hertfordshire County Show! And what a result she achieved!
1st in the Irish Draught Maturity Inhand
1st in 4 – 6 year old ridden
3rd in the Novice Ridden Hunter

We are absolutely over the moon for Gee and Gordon. These achievements are so so well deserved!
Did she encounter setbacks and moments of self-doubt along the way? Absolutely!
However with her truly inspirational mindset, determination and dedication she overcame them all and absolutely smashed her goal.
It really has been an absolute pleasure to watch these two grow together and excel over the past year! Here is what she had to say about her achievement.
